What is Ceylon Cinnamon?
Ceylon cinnamon, also known as true cinnamon, is the inner bark of a tropical tree grown specifically in Sri Lanka and is cracked and dried. Cassia cinnamon, also known as China Cinnamon, is a classic cinnamon that is easily found in the market due to its cheapness. Cinnamon cassia also contains a compound called coumarin, which is potentially toxic at high levels. Ceylon cinnamon does not contain coumarin. Moreover, this is not the only difference from cinnamon Cassia. Ceylon cinnamon is also superior to cinnamon Cassia in terms of aroma, flavor and benefits to the body.
Ceylon Cinnamon, known as the best and only true cinnamon in the world, is preferred as a spice for its flavor and aroma, as well as for its extraordinary benefits. Thanks to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, it helps regulate blood sugar, increase brain function and control appetite.
