Cinnamon Essential Oil
Cinnamon Plant and Its Benefits?
Ceylon cinnamon is grown in Sri Lanka, India, and Myanmar. It is a low-height tree that does not shed its leaves in winter. The young branches of this tree are cut, the bark is peeled off, and the cork layers are removed; the layers are placed inside each other and wrapped and dried. It is then sold in the form of a stick or crushed and as a spice under the name Ceylon cinnamon. This type of cinnamon, which is light brown and sweet, tastes pleasant, is desirable.
Chinese cinnamon, on the other hand, has a lesser and burning taste than Ceylon cinnamon.
The main ingredient in both types of cinnamon is cinnamic aldehyde, an essential oil. In addition to being a spice, cinnamon is added to some dishes, desserts and wines to add flavor and aroma. Cinnamon essential oil, which is obtained from the fruit of the tree, is also used in the cosmetics and perfume industry.
